Our Story

  • OPENING DAY

    Creative Beginnings Montessori Center was founded in 2001 as a preschool for ages two through five years old. The first school campus was located on Vista Chino in Palm Springs.

  • NEW LOCATION, EXPANDED PURPOSE

    The School moved in August 2011 to the current location on the campus of Temple Isaiah in downtown Palm Springs.

  • ELEMENTARY SCHOOL ADDED

    Directly adjacent to the preschool campus, the elementary campus opened in September 2012. The elementary campus includes it’s own playground area, computer and science labs in addition to the classrooms.

Our Teachers

Creative Beginnings teachers are carefully screened and certified in the Montessori Method of Teaching. We believe strongly in the Montessori method, and strive to ensure that each of our teachers approaches the students with the care, concern and respect that the Montessori Method proscribes.

Small class size is an important component of the Montessori method. As such, class sizes in the preschool have a teacher to student ratio of 1 to 12, and elementary school of 1 to 20. Additional teacher assistants provide support throughout the day.

MS. MANIQUE GOONETILLEKESchool Director
Originally from Sri Lanka, Ms. Manique has been trained in the Montessori Method and has been teaching in California for over 30 years.
GERARD (BOSS) GOONETILLEKESchool Administrator
Gerard has been managing the administrative functions for the school since 2010. Prior to that, Gerard was a successful businessman in Sri Lanka.
